The Salvation Army Thrift Store Closure

The Salvation Army focuses on enhancing current programs Casper, WY

Effective September 30th, 2021, The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Casper at 1230 E Yellowstone Hwy, Casper, WY 82601 will suspend operations indefinitely. After a detailed analysis of the store’s operations, it is clear that The Salvation Army can no longer successfully sustain this program. The closure will not affect The Salvation Army’s other services or programs that are offered at the Corps Community Center located at 625 S Jefferson or the Hope Center located at 441 S Center St.

The future use of the facility is still to be determined.   The Salvation Army has served the Casper community for many years and will continue to do so for years to come. Suspending the thrift store will allow The Salvation Army to reinvest its time and resources into the community through other programs and services. The Casper Corps currently serves more than 260 families a week through programs like the food pantry and  WYStepUp program. The WYStepUP program helps unaccompanied/single women coming out of prison or at risk of going back to prison find adequate employment, that can provide affordable safe housing.  The Casper Corps expects the number of programs like this to increase with more time to focus on social services.  

The thrift store will be offering multiple close out discounts throughout the month of September.

The proceeds from these sales fund our local programs, which helps thousands of people each year. Our more than 1,497 conveniently located stores offer shoppers the opportunity to purchase brand name clothing, furniture, household goods, sporting equipment, books, electronics and more.
